Rabid Bushbaby
Late night changes
For some reason I always get more productive starting at around 8 to 9pm. Things become clearer, projects seem easier, and my motivation levels are higher.
The downside? I have a job that requires me to get up waaaaay too early in the morning. It's totally killing my creativity!
The upside? I actually managed to get some work done on my website tonight! Hurray!
I managed to create a bunch of stuff for a vampire campaign (gaming stuff...) that I am running, and in doing that I managed to organize some menus here as well. It's paving the way for more stuff on the site, so that's good. :)
Torchlight
A few days ago I had tried out the demo for Torchlight. It's a Diablo style kind of game that is rather fun. Found out today that it is on sale over at Steam fore $4.99. Hurray for cheap games! Originally it is only $19.99, which is still pretty cheap compared to most new release games on the market today.
I just created a Steam account and am waiting for the game to finish downloading. There is also a map editor, which will be fun to play with.
If you want to check it out, go to either the Torchlight website or buy it through Steam.
Writing with fangs
Lately I've been working on a vampire story. It's not just a random story though, as it is being used for gaming. It is using the Vampire The Masquerade RPG system, and I am the Storyteller. (That's a DM for you D&D minded people...)
I've been having fun with the story so far. I'm really good at creating storylines and characters. Once I get in the mood to start it, the ideas just keep flowing. However, that can sometimes prove to be a bit of a hindrance as the amount of options become overwhelming. Before we began our first gaming session, I had to print out several character sheets to make sure I had the base players covered. There are three people playing characters, and then the main NPCs that their characters interact with is around 10...
The one thing I should be doing with this is actually writing it in proper story form. We've done a couple of sessions so far that have been rather entertaining, even when I can't think straight due to lack of sleep. Whether I involve the player's characters in the story or not, I'm enjoying the way the story is playing out.
If only I had the patience and skill to draw, this would make a great storyline for a dark comic.
(Oh, and if you are wondering... My vampires DO NOT SPARKLE.)
Oooh! Shiny!!
After the release of the Dungeon Finder system, I began working on my Alliance Druid (Shaori) quite a bit. I got her several upgrades, including a massive upgrade to her weapon. Fun stuff.
Since then, I've hopped over to my Horde Druid, Spiffyness, and have been working on characters over there again. This is mainly because my fiancé began playing again. Hurray!
So, if you play, you can find me on Zangarmarsh as Shaori or Blackrock as Spiffyness. Come play!
Remember kids: Say No to PUGs!
So, this week brought Patch 3.3 in WoW. One of the newest features is a Dungeon Finder. It's a newer version of the Looking For Group system they had.
Let me just say... PUGs hurt.
For those of you who don't play these kinds of games, PUGs are not cute little puppies. PUG stands for Pick Up Group. It is a term used to describe a party that was formed by picking up random people on the way to the dungeon. Most of the time, it sucks. Grouping with random people poses the problem of having to quickly learn another person's playstyle. Their way of playing doesn't always mesh well with your own. Sometimes you encounter people who don't know the dungeon, or rush into giant groups of enemies without checking to see if the healer has mana, etc.More Articles...
